The Royal Bavarian beer history began in 1260 when Duke Ludwig the Severe founded the first family brewery in Munich. The most famous achievement, which has the greatest international significance in the history of beer, was the introduction of the famous “REINHAGEITSGEBOT” or the law “On the purity of beer” from 1516 by Duke Wilhelm IV.
